Short answer: T700 is a grade of carbon fiber often used for a paddle’s face sheets. On pickleball paddles it usually appears as a textured “raw carbon” surface over a polymer honeycomb core. The grade name alone does not tell you spin, power or tournament approval — check core thickness, weight, whether the paddle is USAP approved, and the seller’s specs.
What “T700” refers to
In composites, carbon fiber is sold in grades (for example T700-class fiber) that describe filament tensile properties used in manufacturing. Paddle brands borrow that label when the face uses that class of carbon cloth or tow. It is a material callout, not a scoring system and not a guarantee of how the paddle will play in your hand.

Raw carbon face + honeycomb core
Many paddles pair a textured raw carbon face with a polymer honeycomb core. Texture can help the ball grip when your swing path is clean; cores around 16 mm are a common control-oriented thickness. For the face style in general, see what is a raw carbon pickleball paddle. For thickness tradeoffs, see 13mm vs 16mm pickleball paddle.
What T700 does not tell you
- USAP approval. Tournament lists are separate. A T700 face can be approved or not; read the product page.
- Power or spin ratings. Those depend on construction, weight, swing and ball — not the fiber grade name alone.
- Durability forever. Textured faces smooth with play over time; that is normal wear.

FAQ
What does T700 mean on a pickleball paddle?
It usually means the face uses a T700-class carbon fiber. It is a material grade label, not a play-rating or approval status by itself.
Is a T700 paddle the same as a raw carbon paddle?
Often the T700 cloth is used as a raw (unpainted) textured carbon face, but “raw carbon” describes the face finish; T700 describes the fiber grade. Check the product copy for both.
Is your T700 paddle USAP approved?
No. Our T700 Raw Carbon Pickleball Paddle (16 mm) is not USAP approved. It is built for recreational play and gifting.
What core thickness is the Paddle Mark T700 paddle?
16 mm honeycomb core.
How much does the T700 paddle cost?
Single from $89; Duo Set from $129. Options with overgrips or a gift box cost more. Free US shipping; duties included.
